Maintaining your piano

You piano needs to be tuned regularly - here we have some information of piano tuners and where to find them, and who to contact when your piano needs moving.

Piano organisations

There are many piano resources on the web and in print. The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is the most recognised music examination board, and most teachers teach to this syllabus.

The following organisations have excellent websites with FAQs, lists of recognised teachers UK-wide and much more.

Piano movers

Pianos are delicate, precision-made instruments and need to be transported extremely carefully. All respected dealerships will have in-house movers or a moving firm who they trust, so speak to your local shop for more information. If you are moving house and want your removal company to take your piano, always check that they have the experience and equipment to do this. More than one piano has been destroyed or damaged beyond repair by inexperienced removal firms, including this famous case in which a 50,000 instrument was completely destroyed in a matter of seconds: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1260159,00.html
